Based in Southern Italy, Itaka Training promotes cultural development, non-formal education and lifelong learning within local communities, particularly in the regions of Calabria, Puglia and Sicily. Founded by a small group of people committed to making culture, knowledge and Europe more accessible, Itaka works to create opportunities for personal and community growth. Through Erasmus+ and collaborations with international partners across Europe, we encourage the exchange of experiences, intercultural dialogue and the development of new skills and perspectives.
Near the Coast of the Gods
Itaka Training specialises in designing and coordinating high-quality European mobility experiences through the Erasmus+ programme. Working closely with a network of international host partners, we organise tailor-made training courses, job shadowing activities and learning experiences for different groups of participants, including learners, adult learners and education professionals. We are committed to making international mobility accessible to people from all backgrounds, including those with fewer opportunities, fostering personal growth, new skills and intercultural understanding.
Our work also aims to bring Europe closer to our local communities by building strong international partnerships and encouraging the exchange of knowledge, expertise and good practices. Through cooperation with organisations across Europe, we create opportunities for mutual learning, professional and personal development, and lasting connections between people and communities.
We coordinate a consortium of organisations, including charities, NGOs, foundations, social cooperatives and other educational and social entities, providing members with the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ professional development courses abroad.
Funded through Key Action 1 (KA1), our courses are designed for educators and professionals in the education sector who wish to enhance their skills, explore innovative teaching approaches and exchange experiences with colleagues from across Europe.
