In Dialogue with the Other- Best Cross Cultural Practices of Refugee Integration

Itaka training, together with other 5 EU countries is part in the KA2 project “In Dialogue with the Other- Best Cross Cultural Practices of Refugee Integration”

The aim of this Strategic partnership project is to exchange good practices with partners from the UK, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Turkey on refugees’ inclusion methods and to develop a toolkit for people who work with refugees. They can be volunteers, local authorities, teachers, community leaders and so on.

Itaka training is currently preparing a report on the state of affair of refugees and asylum seekers in Italy and on Education and counselling in the processes of social inclusion of migrants/refugees.

Moreover, we will be hosting a 5-day training event at the end of April during which the toolkit will be tested on 30 professionals coming from the protect partners’ countries.

The final toolkit will be divided into 3 main areas:

• State of affairs about refugees in 6 EU countries
• 6 Case studies – The aim of the case study is to collect best practices of refugee integration from each participating country.
• 6 chapters.
  • Education and counselling in the processes of social inclusion of migrants/refugees
  • Evaluation of professional competencies and educational needs of migrants/refugees
  • The use of Social Media for campaigning and employability
  • How to raise awareness on the risk of radicalization through Social Media
  • Digital integration initiatives
  • Promotion of European values and democracy, active citizenship: community development best practices
